Brandon and Ally are the two sweetest souls and we were so excited to get to spend the day with them and capture their secret elopement in Las Vegas this summer. We opted for sunrise since the summers here in Vegas get way too hot, and finished up around 10 am before they headed to hang by the pool to celebrate. And that honestly has to be one of my favorite part of Vegas elopements, you can do literally anything you want, celebrate how you want, and make the entire day about you and your love!
Check out their video below, which was a beautiful mix of both digital and super 8mm video!
The morning began in the desert for a special first look at sunrise. It was hilarious how Brandon drove with Ally in the backseat and a sheet up between the front and the back so he wouldn't see her. First looks are special, but they also have a very comical side when you are trying to figure out how to make it happen while also not seeing each other. That's why we tell everyone to relax, and just have fun with it. At the end of the day, the first look is one minute out of your entire day, so getting all worked up trying to make it perfect is not worth your time. Our advice on having the perfect look is just remembering it's about the experience, the build up, the excitement, NOT acting or pretending, but just being present in this beautiful moment!
After that we haded downtown for some donuts and pictures before heading to the chapel. They were the first wedding that morning, so it actually works out in our favor because we get the place all to ourselves for photo & video! Nothing quite like Elvis at 9am on a Monday :) Weekday elopements are really the best because you get the best ceremony times, photo spots all to yourselves, and basically the chapel all to yourselves!
We shot their wedding photos on a mix of digital, 35mm and polaroids. If you are wanting to really have a retro vegas wedding, there is nothing more retro than having it shot on real film, for that true nostalgic feeling. It really does feel like your parents or your grandparents wedding photos. Timeless, cinematic, and real. This blog features all the film photographs of their very fun Vegas elopement. Their ceremony was at the iconic Little White Wedding chapel in the tunnel of love, featuring our 1966 convertible mustang, Lucille!
XOXO,
